ABOUT 'ZANNE
The focus of my photography is all about YOU, your loved ones and the compelling images you want to preserve and treasure all your life. Whether it is a wedding, an event or a portrait, I will be there to record your most important and precious moments.

My interest in photography dates back to 1984 when I documented the evolution of my Carolina Cottage garden here in Sonoma. Reflecting my South Carolina roots, I created a southern garden with 41 rose bushes, 10 azalea bushes and one stately dogwood tree. This project resulted in a love affair with the camera, accompanied by imaginative story telling and a joy I get only from photography.

I trained with photographer Ron Zak, well known locally for his humorous posters he creates for the annual Sonoma Valley wine auction. I have participated in several international photo shoots led by him in Argentina, Cuba, Viet Nam, and India and …this year to Burma.

Each year I take a master class with one of the nation's best photographers. They include Joyce Wilson at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA., Clay Blackmore of Washington,D.C. and Tony Corbell of San Diego. I am an active member in Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

I shoot color, sepia and black and white using a Canon 5D Mark II digital camera in formal, traditional and photojournalistic styles. While I practice primarily in the Sonoma Valley, I am willing to venture out to the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Active in my community, I have served on the boards of KQED public television, the Foundation for San Francisco Architectural Heritage and the Sonoma League for Historic Preservation.

My MBA degree instilled in me the importance of customer service: I do my homework, show up on time, connect with my clients and deliver results. I am able to balance the discipline and concentration that comes from my business experience with an artistic sensitivity and a strong eye for creative expression.

Always, my goal is to record your story exactly as you would like it told.
